Sonya Kobozeva
Sonya Kobozeva
Sonya Kobozeva was born in 1986 in Moscow.
In 2014, she graduated from the Russian Institute of Theater Arts, Department of Scenography. Since then, he has worked as a production designer and costume designer in the theater. Here are some her theatrical works — “Don Juan” at the National Theater of Mannheim, “Joan of Arc” at the Chelyabinsk State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater named after Glinka, the Laboratory of Mo-dern Opera “Cooperation” on the stage of MAMT named after Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko in Moscow.
Her characters live by themselves, immersed into the world of their own thoughts. They do not interact much even with each other, preferring to look at the phone or throw themselves into the «work». They are separated even more when the artist places them on single canvases, simultaneously limiting with the artificial frames, but at the same time giving private freedom and the opportunity to feel as natural as possible. The colour scheme is also extremely concise and only boosts the impression of isolation.
Sonya Kobozeva lives and works in Moscow.
